A PRINCESS AND AN OUTLAW

It all started in the late 70’s, just like anything worthwhile. No one knew the places it would go, but at that time, no one really cared. It seemed simple: go to college, get married, have babies, grandbabies, retire, and die. Or at least that’s what all the parental (and societal) scriptures dictated. And sure, some of that stuff happened. But not the way they said it should. And in the end, all of their idealism failed her so terribly that she became an outlaw. Refusing to accept life just the way it is. Or the way they lived it. SHE SAID NO. And in that NO she found the ultimate freedom of creativity. So she naturally decided to use it to say no in every format possible. To all of the people. Except the ones who decided to live on the margins. To color wherever they wanted. To NEVER SETTLE for anyone else’s idea of a life well lived. SHE SAID NO. The art was inevitable. The art was everything. The art was her whole damn life. And she lived happily ever after...
